My Story

I came to Canada some years ago as an immigrant with very limited ability to communicate and share my thoughts, ideas, and feelings with others in English. Yet, shortly after I managed to graduate from Simon Fraser University (SFU) with my Bachelor Degree in Linguistics. I stayed with SFU for another two years to complete my Post-Diploma Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). Finally, I could manage to obtain my Master's Degree in Education from University of British Columbia (UBC). While studying at UBC, I also managed to start my career as an ESL instructor at a private language school. Later, I joined Vancouver Community Centre (VCC) to help adult immigrants improve their overall and communicative abilities in English. Finally, I joined Langara College, and for the next 26 years, I helped both international and domestic students develop their linguistic and academic skills as well as their self-confidence and prepare for their future studies in colleges/universities. Based on my personal experience, I fully understand that thriving in a foreign country and mastering its language could be quite challenging and demanding. How to approach such challenges depends on the path we choose to take in order to address these challenges. I will be more than happy to join and accompany you on this journey so that we can resolve language-related challenges together.
